Meet the people behind Chabad at SMU
Chabad at SMU is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming community where students can explore their heritage, build meaningful connections, and grow spiritually and personally. We provide programs, events, and support that enrich the lives of our students and families.
From Shabbat dinners to educational programs, from one-on-one mentoring to community service, we're here to support every student's journey. We don't assume any prior knowledge and meet each person where they are at

Co-Director
An LA transplant who couldn't wait to escape sunny skies for even sunnier conversations. When he's not debating the finer points of Judaism with students, you'll find him on the slopes, pedaling a road bike, or playing piano, flute, or guitar. He reads everything and argues about life with anyone who'll listen.

Aidy grew up right here in Dallas, where her father founded Chabad of Dallas, so building Jewish community is quite literally in her blood. She studied in London and Israel before earning her BA from the University of Dallas, and she's currently finishing a master's degree to become a therapist. She's the proud mom of Yosef and Chana, and her warmth and genuine curiosity make every student feel instantly at home. Fun facts: she's a massive football fan (and loves hockey too) who will happily debate a play with you for an hour, has plenty of (strong) opinions about basketball, and in another life was a professional florist.

"Chabad at SMU changed the game of what it was like to be a Jewish student at SMU. It's like overnight everything became better. I wish they had been here when we started. "
